Welcome

I’m not sure how you got here, looking at this blog, but no matter the way, reason, or chance, I’m glad you’re here. I hope you stay a while. My friend is worth hearing about.

I’m Jerry. I decided to write about my buddy from high school, not because he was a phenomenal sports star who no one has ever heard of, or because he has made such a profound impact on those around him. Well, actually it’s closer to the second than the first, even though that is a bit of a stretch.

Craig is my buddy. He’s the one we’re talking about here, and the reason he’s interesting to us is because he killed a guy. Then he spent 18 years in prison for his actions, and now he’s out. He owned up to what he did, paid for it by serving his time, and now he’s starting to pick up the pieces and start his life anew, really for the first time as an adult.

It’s not your typical success story. But in a significant way, it kind of is the new American success story in that he has overcome the odds, put the hard times behind him, and turned his difficulties and sacrifices into wins.

I encourage you to follow our blog (the easiest way is to register with your email on the menu screen so you never miss a post) and learn about Craig as he shows us the ins and outs of prison life, a life he led for 6,571 consecutive days, and how he’s going about building a new life for himself on the outside. It’s the essentials of an inmate’s life, and the sobering reality of a man’s journey.
